The hospital ran 11 systems — HIS, EMR, LIS, PACS, HRP and others — built independently with inconsistent standards. Management reporting required manual consolidation across departments, typically lagging more than 15 days with conflicting definitions.
Solution
- Established a hospital data hub, defined 340 data element standards and cleansed legacy data
- Implemented master data management across patients, departments, staff, service items and suppliers
- Delivered six decision applications: outpatient and inpatient operations, OR and bed efficiency, DRG costing, consumables control, pharmacy management and performance appraisal
- Added a data quality dashboard with automatic alerting and ticket assignment
